Wood Signs on to PCATS

AutoGas engineer joins tech standards alliance

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) said Scott Wood, presently senior engineer with AutoGas Systems Inc., will be joining the alliance on February 27 as director of standards.

Since we started the alliance in 2003, we have recognized the need to have someone with the experience, expertise and talent that Scott possesses join our team to shepherd the development, maintenance and documentation of our standards, John Hervey, executive director of PCATS. Scott has been involved with the NACS [National Association [image-nocss] of Convenience Stores]/PCATS standards efforts for the past six years and, in particular, with the Device Integration-Open Site Architecture efforta major work item for 2006.

Richard Oneslager, president of Balmar Petroleum and new chair of the PCATS board, said, Adding another position to the PCATS staff has been enabled by the membership growth the alliance has experienced this past year. Retailers and suppliers are recognizing the benefits to their bottom line by direct involvement with this effort.

Wood has been employed by AutoGas for 11 years. His responsibilities have included development and maintenance of the architecture and framework for the Regal product line. In addition, he was the principal designer of the AutoGas Digital Rewards product.

In his new position, Wood will telecommute from New Braunfels, Texas. His immediate assignment will be as staff liaison with the Device Integration and Retail Financial Transactions Committees and with the International Forecourt Standards Forum.
