BluePay Rolls Out Pay-at-the-Pump Processing

Facilitates credit card, debit card, fleet card acceptance

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- BluePay, a provider of secure payment processing, now offers pay-at-the-pump processing capabilities, allowing gas stations and convenience stores to accept credit cards, debit cards and fleet cards directly at the fuel pump.

"When filling up the gas tank, today's drivers want to be in and out as quickly as possible," said Allen Caviles, chief technology officer at BluePay (www.bluepay.com). "Pay-at-the-pump services eliminate the need to leave the car unattended, walk inside and stand wait in long lines. Meanwhile, gas station employees can attend to other duties for [image-nocss] improved customer service inside the convenience store."

Pay-at-the-pump processing involves the same basic equipment as in-store credit card terminals, with the ability to swipe and read credit cards, enter PINs and print out receipts right at the pump. With BluePay merchant accounts, gas stations can also accept fleet cards, which allow drivers and employers to keep track of fuel and maintenance expenses for company vehicles.

As credit-card fraud and identity theft remain real concerns, many pay-at-the-pump terminals ask for ZIP codes to verify the customer is the actual cardholder. BluePay's PCI-compliant features also include end-to-end encryption, which keep credit-card data protected from the point of swipe to authorization.

"At BluePay, we are committed to protecting our merchants and their customers, in addition to providing first-rate services that comply with PCI DSS standards," said Caviles. "Our security systems not only reduce the risk of compromised data, but they also help merchants save money in the long term."

BluePay is a full-service, Tier 1 credit-card processor based in Naperville, Ill.
