BP, Murphy Oil Join SymphonyIRI AllScan C-Store Service

CPG tracker now provides data on 19,000 stores

CHICAGO -- SymphonyIRI continues to build on its market leading position in convenience tracking with recent retailer agreements, including BP and Murphy Oil, bringing the total number of convenience stores providing data to more than 19,000 sample stores by the end of 2012.

AllScan is a 100% scan-based convenience tracking service providing highly differentiated features, including weekly data granularity, visibility into sales for all items selling in convenience and UPC-level pricing. AllScan's client base includes more than 100 CPG manufacturers and retailers.

SymphonyIRI AllScan Convenience Store Tracking Service already has the largest convenience sample in the industry, it said, with more than 16,000 sample stores in its 2012 service. The addition of the latest convenience retailers will further fortify an already strong foundation, which provides more than 100 different retail views in 50 states and markets.

"The convenience channel is massive and diverse, consisting of more than 148,000 venues," said Kevin O'Malley, senior vice president of content product management for SymphonyIRI. "By further improving our industry leading AllScan service using the largest sample set in the market, SymphonyIRI provides the best most accurate data available to our clients for measuring this challenging retail segment."

SymphonyIRI said that it plans additional AllScan enhancements in 2012 with releases of new syndicated category reporting, including electronic cigarettes, gasoline price monitoring, and further convenience retailer offerings.
