CITGO Meeting to Focus on PCI Compliance

Fleet services, customer service also on agenda
HOUSTON -- In advance of its annual retailer meetings, CITGO Petroleum Corp. said, "One of the things we heard from our marketers earlier this year is how confusing the industry-mandated PCI compliance issues are. We want to help our retailers prepare for the changes ahead so that they can make a seamless transition to the new regulations," said Steve Morris, Northeast market regional manager for CITGO Petroleum Corp. "We also know that our retailers are truly the face of CITGO in their local communities, so we want to provide tools to help them grow their businesses, while also [image-nocss] listening to their questions and concerns."

The Northeast Region Retailer Meeting will be held on May 28, 2009, in Mashantucket, Conn. Topics for the meetings include PCI compliance, fleet services and improving customer service.

In addition to a trade show consisting of key industry vendors, the meetings will give Retailers access to hands-on training sessions on a range of key topics vital to their operations. The session on PCI compliance requirements will help bring retailers up-to-speed with the host of mandatory changes they will need to adopt to become PCI compliant, and will also provide details on the most efficient and cost-effective ways to meet these requirements.

The session on CITGO Fleet programs will review the new line of business credit cards offered by CITGO and the opportunities retailers have to benefit from these programs. In addition, retailers will be able to participate in an onsite tradeshow to view new products and services that can help improve and streamline individual business operations.

"We, at CITGO, know that the complexities of running a gas station and convenience store are even more apparent in the current economic climate," said Jim Click, central market regional manager with CITGO. "That is why CITGO is so committed to offering and expanding programs to help our marketers and retailers succeed. Our Fleet Card program is better than ever, and our state-of-the-industry loyalty program and tools help retailers not only survive but thrive in today's fiercely competitive environment."

Throughout the meetings, Retailers will be able to meet individually with representatives from CITGO to voice specific concerns about their locations and also share success stories with fellow retailers.

CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela SA, the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
