D&E Renews Wawa Tech Contract

Extends relationship through March 2006

EPHRATA, Pa. --D&E Communications Inc. will continue providing technology services for more than 550 Wawa convenience stores in five Mid-Atlantic states, after renewing its contract this month.

D&E's office in King of Prussia has been providing technology services to the Wawa chain since 1987. The most recent contract extension continues this relationship through March 2006.

The company supports a variety of technology applications, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals (cash registers), customer activated touchscreens [image-nocss] used in the foodservice area, electronic safes, money order machines, servers and control units. D&E also services the communication links between gasoline pumps and registers and backoffice servers.

The company works with Wawa on store openings and projects such as upgrading servers at its stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

D&E is an integrated communications provider offering high-speed data, Internet access, local and long-distance telephone, voice and data networking, network management and security and video services.
