Gilbarco, RedPrairie Deliver Integrated Solution

Announce remote management tool for Passport POS

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Retailers who operate Gilbarco Inc.'s Passport point-of-sale (POS) system will soon be able to remotely manage their network of sites from a central location. Gilbarco and RedPrairie Corp. will deliver an integrated remote management solution to provide centralized control for Passport configuration, fuel price management, store reports, and software version maintenance to one or multiple sites.

Gilbarco and RedPrairie will deliver these features in Passport Version 9, independently from the retailers' backoffice package.

"With the current trend toward multi-site [image-nocss] ownership and the volatility of fuel prices and margins, it's more important than ever for retailers to be able to manage multiple sites and multiple brands more closely and respond to competition in real time from their desktop," said Greg Davis, Passport marketing manager at Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

RedPrairie's E2e solutions promote consumer loyalty by synchronizing people, products and information at the right place and time across the retailer's value chain of manufacturers, distributors and retail locations. RedPrairie's E2e retail solutions include Workforce Management, Site Operations, Performance Management, and Execution Management.

"This partnership is an important step towards our goal of serving all segments of the petroleum convenience store industry," said Kim Eaton, executive vice president of field operations Americas for RedPrairie. "Teaming with Gilbarco, we will be able to offer a full suite of solutions which will benefit their customer base, beginning with remote management."

Passport is a major Payment Application Best Practices (PABP)-certified POS systems and is approved on all major networks, the companies said. It provides a touchscreen interface that minimizes training time, errors and shrinkage. Passport provides connectivity and standardization, business information and security features, business growth tools and expandability.

Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Gasboy are leading suppliers of integrated fuel control, site management and support services for petroleum marketers and commercial fueling enterprises worldwide.

RedPrairie, Milwaukee, is a consumer-driven optimization company. Built on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) developed over the past 15 years, the RedPrairie integrated suite of solutions offers on-demand capabilities to more than 32,000 sites worldwide. RedPrairie's E2e solutions synchronize people and products throughout the customer buying cycle to ensure goods reach the right place at the right time. At the point of sale, this means consumers have access to desired products and that the store is staffed with the right people to help them make their purchases. In the production cycle, it means suppliers and manufacturers time and synchronize shipments and production based on demand signals from the retailer. And in the back room of the store, it means having the least amount of inventory, solving the "last yard" problem of the retail supply chain.
