Helix to Be Featured at BP's 'Fuelling the Future' Olympics Showcase

"We created this dispenser for an increasingly globalized world," says Wayne

AUSTIN, Texas -- Wayne, A GE Energy Business and a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, has announced that the new Wayne Helix fuel dispenser will be the official fuel dispenser of BP's "Fuelling the Future" Showcase in London during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

BP is the official oil and gas partner of the London 2012 Games and will be providing advanced fuels for many of the fleet of more than 5,000 vehicles. BP selected Wayne's Helix dispenser to highlight the advancements being made in the "fuelling stations of tomorrow."

Wayne has been a strategic global supplier to BP for nearly 30 years, providing fuel dispenser and payment solutions to BP affiliates in the United States, Europe, Turkey and South Africa. This strong relationship stretches back to include the Amoco and Arco brands prior to, during and after BP acquired those companies.

BP challenged Wayne to design and build a fuel dispenser that could showcase BP's future product aspirations from both a fuelling and payment perspective. The station of the future will likely see increasing levels of bio components blended into conventional fossil fuels such as petrol and diesel. As such, fuel suppliers will need dispensers that have been tested and certified to handle the rigor and demands of a wide range of biofuel blends and that also are safe, secure and easy to operate.

Wayne developed the Helix fuel dispenser based on extensive research and feedback from distributors, retailers, technicians and motorists from around the world. Helix dispensers are built on a global platform for worldwide design recognition and a consistent reliable fuelling experience.

"Being selected by BP as the featured dispenser for its London 2012 biofuels showcase speaks to the commitment Wayne has made to elevate the standard for the modern fuelling experience," said Neil Thomas, Wayne global president. "We created this dispenser for an increasingly globalized world, with significant input from our customers and from motorists worldwide. It's a product line that will be the same for all Wayne customers in all regions."

The Helix fuel dispenser family is designed to meet the standards of both ATEX and UL, global regulatory governing bodies for safety. The new dispenser also delivers Wayne's payment-security platform, which is certified to comply with both PCI and EMV payment-security standards. Additional features such as enhanced displays with high-contrast, ergonomic design as well as expanded branding and signage areas visible from multiple angles establish the Helix dispenser family as a new standard for the fuelling station of the future.

"Hammersmith is a showcase for `industry's firsts', and we have been delighted to work with our partner, Wayne, to continue this theme," said Stewart Bates, BP design manager Europe, ANZ, SA & Russia. "With the installation of the world's first Helix dispenser, designed and engineered to the needs of tomorrow's fuelling stations, we will continue to highlight what is possible."

Austin, Texas-based Wayne is a component of GE's 2011 acquisition of Dresser Inc. and is a global leader in the design, manufacturing and servicing of forecourt fueling solutions, including dispensers, payment platforms, control systems and other technology.
