Gulf Oil tuning in GSTV at Bay State stations

NEWTON, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP is now providing complementary TV programming to its customers at the pump, with the installation of Gas Station TV (GSTV), a tool to help increase the revenue stream for participating gas retailers. The first phase of the installation was completed last week and includes stations in Westborough, Natick, Framingham and Charlton (2) along the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Now, Gulf consumers can enjoy watching CBS News and entertainment, ESPN sports and local weather at the pump. GSTV plays specifically tailored content for Massachusetts consumers in four-to-five-minute [image-nocss] segments.

"We are creating convenience and entertainment help to enhance the customer experience," said Joseph Petrowski, President and CEO for Gulf Oil.

The company will continue to roll out GSTV across its Northeast footprint, it said.

GSTV is currently on over 5,000 screens in 375 U.S. cities including top media markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa, San Diego, Raleigh, Indianapolis, and Miami. Gas Station TV is based in Oak Park, Mich.

Newton, Mass.-based Gulf Oil is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products. It distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 Gulf branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals. And it supplies heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene to these branded retail outlets through both its Gulf brand and, in the seven states of New England and New York, the Exxon brand.
