Pinnacle's Auditor Goes Live at WSCO

Home-office solution running in all store locations

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. completed testing of its Auditor retail accounting manager software with WSCO Petroleum Corp. and has moved it into the production accounting environment for all stores. The Auditor software is built on Pinnacle's Web-based Symphony Business Platform.

What strikes me most about Auditor is the ability to customize the audit screens, Phil Boitz, WSCO's controller, said. I get to decide how the system is setup and what is included for each retail location."

With Auditor, retailers have [image-nocss] the flexibility of customizing sets of rules that validate data related to sales and cash accountability, fuel inventory categories, and cost and retail inventory. Data that does not pass user-defined exception rules will not be marked as audited. With this software product, exceptions are displayed for checking for accuracy. Once data is audited, retailers can use Auditor's Web-based reporting system to extract various types of reports.

"Not only has Auditor evolved into a Windows-type of product but also into an actual thin-client, Web-based, and Software as a Service capable application that can be deployed over a variety of environments and platforms," said Larry Bissonette, Pinnacle's product manager for Auditor. "For our clients such as WSCO, this means they now have a solution that allows them to access and work with their data from anywhere within their corporate network, whether it be the office, a store site, or from an employee's home. In addition to accessing their data from virtually anywhere and at anytime, they can do it with no additional cost in terms of software and hardware upgrading."

A 35-year-old company based in Portland, Ore., WSCO Petroleum Corp. serves 150 stores throughout Oregon and Washington, including 49 retail gas stations, 24 convenience stores, eight smoke shops, and 11 car washes. WSCO distributes its unbranded gasoline "Astro" along with branded products from several major oil companies.

The Pinnacle Corp., Arlington, Texas, is a leader in the automation technology industry focusing on the rapidly evolving convenience store and petroleum industries.
