Sheetz Enhances Its Website

Offers updated nutritional info, job search, travel planner, more

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. has redesigned its website. The 330-store convenience chain has been online with its website since 1997, the company said, and this is its first redesign in more than five years.

New features of www.sheetz.com include updated nutritional information, corporate sponsorship opportunities, job searches and a feature for travelers to plan their trips around the closest Sheetz locations.

The website is really an extension of our stores and our brand, said [image-nocss] Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing. We've changed the look of our stores, our logo, and our menu so an update of our website was the next step in the process of refreshing the Sheetz brand.

Sheetz, family-owned and -operated company since 1952, has added on the new website a chance to meet the family and to learn how they got their start in the convenience store industry.

Job seekers can view and apply for available positions. There is an application process for all store-level management, corporate office, distribution center and CLI Transport division positions. Something new to the job opportunity page is the Realistic Job Preview. Viewers can take a virtual tour of what it's like to work in various positions at Sheetz.

Nutritional information for Sheetz Made-To-Order food menu and the Sheetz Bros. Coffeez espresso bar is now available to customers on the website. Customers enter a food or drink item with all the extras they would like and the computer tabulates information such as calories, cholesterol, protein and more.

The new website also features a trip planner. Customers enter the beginning and ending addresses of a trip and in addition to door-to-door directions, it identifies each Sheetz location along the route.

This is a fun feature of the website that is also useful, added Louie Sheetz. It's great that we have so many customers who map out their days or vacations around our store locations.

The new Sheetz.com also offers an explanation of the types of charities and activities supported by Sheetz Inc. and how to apply for a charitable contribution.

The latest news and information about the company is included in a press room available on the website along with an online store selling Sheetz merchandise.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz has more than $3.8 billion in revenue for 2006 and more than 11,000 employees. The company operates 330 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
