Southern Pump Gets All Dressered Up

Equipment company signs distribution deal

AUSTIN, Texas -- Dresser Wayne, a global retail fueling equipment manufacturer and technology pioneer, has signed a distributor and service agreement with Southern Pump & Tank Co.Based in Charlotte, N.C., Southern Pump & Tank Co. will market Dresser Wayne's complete portfolio of retail petroleum products in seven southeastern states.

In order for fuel retailers to maximize their technology investment, they have to get the right support and training from their distributor on a consistent basis, said Bill Reichhold, vice president of U.S. [image-nocss] sales for Dresser Wayne.Southern Pump & Tank Co.'s knowledgeable sales and support team is well-known for its leadership in these areas.We are extremely excited about this new partnership and the enhanced benefits our customers will receive because of it.

Dresser Wayne and Southern Pump & Tank Co. are working closely to ensure a seamless transition for current and future customers."Our primary goal is to make sure that customers from both Dresser Wayne and [Southern Pump] are well taken care of without any disruption to their business during this transition," said Charlie Tew, CEO of Southern Pump & Tank Co.

As part of this agreement, Southern Pump & Tank Co. will market and service Dresser Wayne products in the following areas of the Southeast:all of North Carolina and South Carolina, eastern Tennessee, southeastern Kentucky, southern and eastern Virginia, northeastern Florida, and all of Georgia except for the southwestern portion of the state. Southern Pump & Tank Co. has served the southeast petroleum retail market since 1935.

Dresser Wayne, Austin, Texas, is a unit of Dresser Inc. and is an industry pioneer for the retail fueling industry. Among its innovations, Dresser Wayne was the first to introduce self-service consoles and fuel blending dispensers to service stations, in-pump card readers and cash acceptors, in-pump radio frequency identification payment systems and dispenser-mounted touch screen payment/communication systems. In addition, Dresser Wayne designs and markets software systems that enable its retail fueling customers to manage the convenience store aspects of their businesses more efficiently, including inventory control, price book management, labor management and site administration.

Southern Pump & Tank Co. provides equipment for major oil companies, convenience stores, HVR/Hypermarket, retail lube stores, oil jobbers, bulk petroleum plants, and fleet fueling operations.
