Speedway SuperAmerica Selects RedPrairie's BlueCube Enterprise

Will enhance backoffice, pricebook operations

ENON, Ohio -- Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (SSA) has selected RedPrairie Corp.'s Retail Productivity Solutions (formerly BlueCube Software) for key backoffice components of the BlueCube Enterprise Solution for petroleum and convenience stores.

The RedPrairie BlueCube Enterprise product suite provides an excellent fit to meet our comprehensive backoffice and pricebook requirements, said Marty Inkrott, SSA vice president of information technology.

The project team will apply process and workflow templates developed from the initial [image-nocss] sites to all of the stores, speeding implementation throughout the chain. Additionally, the system's integrated e-learning courseware (e-Courses) will train SSA employees on how to best use the system, the firm said, further reducing rollout times and costs.

Owned and operated by Marathon, Speedway SuperAmerica LLC, headquartered in Enon, Ohio, is the nation's third largest company-owned and -operated convenience store chain with more than 1,600 stores located in nine states. Most of the stores are operated under the Speedway and SuperAmerica brand names.

Marathon is the fourth-largest U.S.-based fully integrated international energy company engaged in exploration and production; integrated gas; and refining, marketing and transportation operations. The Houston-based company's retail marketing system comprises approximately 5,600 locations in 17 states; nearly three-quarters are Marathon brand locations. Marathon serves the Midwest and Southeast as a petroleum products marketer.

RedPrairie is a consumer-driven optimization company. Built on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) developed over the past 10 years, the RedPrairie integrated suite of solutions offers on-demand capabilities to more than 25,000 sites worldwide. RedPrairie's E2e solutions synchronize people and products throughout the customer buying cycle to ensure goods reach the right place at the right time, it said. At the point of sale, this means consumers have access to desired products and that the store is staffed with the right people to help them make their purchases. In the production cycle, it means suppliers and manufacturers time and synchronize shipments and production based on demand signals from the retailer. And in the back room of the store, it means having the least amount of inventory, it added.

In other RedPrairie news, the Milwaukee-based company recently acquired GEOCOMtms Inc, Quebec City, Quebec. The combined companies, operating under the name RedPrairie, will integrate and support all products and services from both organizations within RedPrairie's end-to-end (E2e) suite. The acquisition will meet the fleet requirements of many industries, including food and grocery, petroleum, retail, courier and healthcare delivery.
