Founded in 1958, QuikTrip is best known for its wide assortment of beverages and signature fresh foods prepared at its own commissaries—and, increasingly, made to order in stores. Its foodservice portfolio includes everything from an expansive roller-grill program to made-to-order breakfast bowls and flatbreads.

Also well known in the industry for valuing its employees, QuikTrip made Fortune’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2017. QuikTrip is also a perennial contender in CSP’s annual mystery shop.

QuikTrip has been experimenting with nonfuel, walk-up locations, recently opening a fuel-free location in downtown Atlanta. “We wanted to get into some areas of town where we couldn’t put gasoline,” a QuikTrip official said. It’s reflective of a number of other c-store leaders, including Sheetz and Maverik, opening food-focused, fuel-free stores in high-foot-traffic areas.

QuikTrip’s Gen3 store model features four entrances—two in the front and two on the side—and is more than 40% larger than the previous format.
