MOUNT JACKSON, Va. -- Holtzman Oil Corp. is acquiring Cline Energy Inc., Harrisonburg, Va., which owns 18 gas stations, convenience stores and truckstops in Rockingham and Page counties in Virginia, reported The Northern Virginia Daily.
The gas stations and c-stores operate under the Valley's name, and the truckstops operate under the SouthSide Diner & Travel Centers name. The chain's tagline is "The Stop Where Convenience Starts."
Holtzman Oil, based in Mount Jackson, Va., supplies gasoline to about 150 gas stations in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, as well as heating oil for residents in the region.
Holtzman Oil will expand its 250-person workforce by retaining Cline Energy employees, said the report.
Owner Bill Holtzman said the purchase makes sense for his business and should increase the delivery of gasoline by 20 million gallons. "We are an Exxon supplier and Cline Energy owns Exxon stations," he told the newspaper. "It's just a good fit for us."
The companies did not disclose the purchase price.
Holtzman Oil also owns Valley Ice, Holtzman Propane, Holtzman Transport, Holtzman Lubricants, Holtzman Equipment & Construction, Holtzman Service Center and Holtzman HVAC, as well as Little Apple Properties, which owns several Burger King and Denny's restaurants.
