IRVING, Texas -- 7-Eleven is teaming up with Twix to offer a limited-time doughnut topped with candy-bar bits.
The Caramel Bar Made With Twix Donut is a rectangular pastry topped with chopped Twix pieces, along with caramel icing and drizzled chocolate as an extra nod to the candy bar’s caramel-chocolate combo.
"People want to have fun with their food, especially treats," said Terrell Smith, 7-Eleven's fresh-bakery category manager. "Premium and specialty doughnuts are becoming an all-day impulse item that our customers are purchasing when they crave something sweet. With our Caramel Bar Made Mith Twix Donuts, they get two treats in one, a delicious doughnut topped with one of our best-selling candy bars."
The Twix doughnut is the latest in a line of unusual bakery treats offered by 7-Eleven, including a pink sprinkle doughnut inspired by “The Simpsons” and wild-cherry and blue-raspberry Slurpee doughnuts to commemorate the drink’s 50th birthday.
The Twix doughnut is made fresh and delivered daily to 7-Eleven stores. It's sold for a suggested retail price of $1.69.
