Mars Wrigley Confectionery Names New Global President

Clarke succeeds Radvan, who is retiring after 32 years

CHICAGO -- Andrew Clarke, chief marketing and customer officer for Mars Inc., will succeed Martin Radvan as global president of Mars Wrigley Confectionery, effective in September. Radvan is retiring after 32 years with the company.

Clarke’s career began in 1996 as a store manager with British retailer Marks & Spencer. He joined Mars’ United Kingdom division in 2000 as category and sales leadership director for Mars Chocolate and has held roles in the company’s chocolate, pet care and food segments ever since.

He led operations as sales director for Mars U.K., general manager of Mars Ireland and regional president for pet care in Latin America before becoming chief marketing and customer officer in 2015. For the past three years, Clarke has driven initiatives and strategies that leveraged Mars' brands and fostered relationships with global customers, the company said.

Clarke will now be based at Mars Wrigley Confectionery's global headquarters in Chicago.

"Andrew is the right person to lead Mars Wrigley Confectionery into its next chapter,” said Grant Reid, CEO of Mars. “His track record for driving ambitious change while delivering results is the fuel our business needs to thrive in an ever-changing consumer and retail landscape. Andrew brings great global perspective, combined with a principled approach to leadership and passion for engaging and inspiring teams."

Outgoing president Radvan’s career with Mars has spanned various roles as well, including vice president of technology for Mars’ European division and chief information officer for pet care. He was named global president of Mars Wrigley Confectionery in 2011.

McLean, Va.-based Mars Inc. is a global manufacturer with more than $35 billion in sales. Its brands include Snickers, M&M’s, Dove, Milky Way, Twix, Doublemint, Skittles and Orbit.
