CHS Rolls Out Datawire at Cenex Stations

VXN promises faster payment processing

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. -- Datawire Communications Networks Inc. said that it has begun rollout of its patented VXN Network with CHS Inc., which is offering Datawire to all of its 1,600 Cenex- branded gas stations as a payment processing option.

Cenex stores can realize faster speeds for payment card processing through the use of the Datawire VXN and the Datawire MicroNode, the Atlanta-based tech company said.

The Datawire VXN is a fully managed transaction delivery network for moving real-time data such as financial transactions [image-nocss] faster, reliably and more securely over the public Internet. The Datawire VXN is fully PCI Compliant.

The VXN MicroNode uses a secure Internet connection through either a DSL or cable provider to connect sites to the payment network. This connectivity allows for substantially faster processing times for noncash transactions both at the point of sale (POS) and pay-at-the-pump transactions, said the company.

The Datawire MicroNode allows Cenex stores with existing broadband connectivity to better serve their customers and leverage their investment in POS systems, said Paul Culver, credit card department manager at CHS. Faster transaction speeds are critical to our Cenex-branded locations so we can provide the best possible customer experience. Faster credit card transaction speeds increase the number of sales that can be completed during peak times.

To implement this solution Datawire established redundant connectivity to the Cenex host processor, National Bankcard Services Inc. (NBS), Plymouth, Minn.

The Datawire MicroNode device, in combination with our PCI compliant VXN network, will provide CHS and its network of Cenex-branded retailers with an extremely secure, reliable and actively managed payment solution, said Pat Cummiskey, CEO for Datawire Communication Networks.

Datawire offers the VXN, a globally focused, secure, reliable, real-time, Internet-based Transaction Delivery Network. The Datawire VXN is a faster and more secure network for moving transactions over the Internet, fully managed by Datawire. This network is built to handle and transport any real-time data such as financial transactions with optimum security and reliability.

Inver Grove Heights, Minn.-based CHS is a diversified energy, grains and foods company owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Northwest and from the Canadian border to Texas, along with thousands of preferred stockholders. CHS provides products and services ranging from grain marketing to food processing. It also operates petroleum refineries/pipelines and, through working partnerships, markets and distributes Cenex-brand energy products and renewable fuels, along with agronomic inputs and livestock feed to rural America.

National Bankcard Services is a provider of electronic payment and loyalty services.
