Also focuses on education with High School Ticket Program

HOUSTON -- From now through Nov. 10, CITGO is giving away $34,000 in CITGO Gift Cards to consumers who visit one of nearly 500 CITGO branded stations in San Antonio; Atlanta; Tampa, Fla.; and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa., as part of the CITGO Good Stuff Giveaway.

CITGO Launches $34,000 Gift-Card Giveaway

During the six-week promotion, CITGO and its network of locally owned locations will give away 10 $100 CITGO Gift Cards weekly in each city for a total of 240 instant winners. All entrants will be automatically entered into a random drawing for one grand prize in each city: a year’s supply of gasoline given in the form of $2,500 in CITGO Gift Cards.

“We are always looking for ways to help our marketers and retailers increase traffic to their CITGO-branded locations, and the Good Stuff Giveaway is a great way to bring in more customers,” said Gustavo Velásquez, vice president of supply and marketing for CITGO. “Additionally, it’s another creative way to support these independent owners and help their local businesses thrive.”

Customers can enter by visiting their participating local CITGO and scanning a QR Code or sending a text with the key word that can all be found on point-of-purchase materials.

Nearly 50 independent CITGO marketers across the four cities are participating in the giveaway, and every CITGO-branded station in the four markets is included in the campaign.

Meanwhile, CITGO Petroleum Corp. announced a new partnership with Huddle Inc. and the launch of the CITGO & Huddle Inc. High School Ticket Program. Through this new program running through May 2014, CITGO will help 222 high schools in Tampa, Fla.; Mobile, Dothan and Montgomery, Ala.; and Greenville and New Bern, N.C. save more than $150,000 by offsetting the schools’ ticket printing costs.

Through the CITGO & Huddle Inc. High School Ticket Program, CITGO can save its high-school partners the cost of printing school-event tickets by providing printed tickets to the schools at no cost. Each ticket also includes a CITGO coupon that is customized by market, ranging from CITGO discounts to giveaways at local CITGO stations.

“Education is one of the four CITGO pillars in our social responsibility program, so we are very excited to be working with Huddle Inc. to provide much-needed support to these local schools,” Velásquez said. “By offsetting required ticket costs, more than 200 schools can now focus resources on other, more critical needs for their classrooms.”

Huddle Inc. is a hyper-local grassroots marketing firm that takes national marketing platforms into neighborhoods to meet specific affiliate needs. The company exists to serve its neighbors throughout communities across the country. Huddle’s signature platform is the High School Ticket Program. Since 2001 Huddle has aggregated more than 10,000 high schools in 50 states and provided them with more than one billion free event tickets.

CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
