Miller Oil Foundation presents Miller Best Ball Golf Tourney

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Miller Oil Golf Tournament committee, led by Deanne Miller, chair of the Miller Oil Foundation, said it plans to net $50,000 with this year's annual fundraiser in support of Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter's Child Abuse Center and other regional charities. The event is June 20, 2006.

The Miller Tournament, hosted each summer at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach, Va., includes many added features, Miller said. Our participants have such a great time that they keep coming to us with new ideas for making the day even more [image-nocss] exciting. This year one team stepped up to sponsor the National Long Drive Champion for a demonstration and to raise more money; our automobile sponsor keeps doubling the number of cars for hole-in-one challenges; and another friend of the Foundation brought us our Million Dollar Hole-in-One competition.

The Miller Oil Foundation and Miller employees recently completed a fund drive in the Miller's stores throughout Hampton Roads, Va. This was a very successful and visible campaign in which the proceeds went to a regional nonprofit organization that supports families whose children are suffering from cancer.

The Miller Oil Foundation was formed in January, 1994 by the Miller family to support charities in the regions the Miller Oil serves. The focus is on contributing to children's health, arts and education services.
