7-Eleven sponsors Mavs; ExxonMobil, Circle K, BP, Petro-Canada take the field

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. has signed on as a major sponsor of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team for the next three seasons and as title sponsor of its Street Team. As part of that agreement, 7-Eleven will give free coupons to Mavericks fans as they leave American Airlines Center following each of the 41 home games during the 2006-2007 season.

After every home game, fans who stop by one of the 7-Eleven tents located at the arena's four exits will receive a coupon redeemable for free 7-Eleven products such as donuts, Big Gulp fountain drinks, Slurpee [image-nocss] beverages, coffee and 7-Eleven Go-Go Taquitos. A different product coupon will be distributed after each game.

The partnership with the Dallas Mavericks is part of a full-court press to reach our customers during their more leisure activities, said John Moritz, Dallas-based 7-Eleven's marketing director.

Besides distributing free coupons at all home games, 7-Eleven has planned halftime activities at select home games, including the Lucky 7-Eleven Dice Toss, pitting one section against another to try to roll a seven and 11 on giant dice thrown from their arena seats. Everyone in the winning section will receive a free item from 7-Eleven.

Other elements of the sponsorship include ticket giveaways, product sampling, store appearances by the Dallas Mavericks Street Team and video ads during games on the American Airlines Center scoreboard.
