Super Sessions set serious tone for The NACS Show

LAS VEGAS -- The NACS Show 2006 got off to an early start yesterday with a complete lineup of Super Session educational workshops (see related story in this issue of CSP Daily News) before the Welcoming Reception gave retailers, suppliers and other attendees the opportunity to get reacquainted over drinks and food.

The full show, which continues through Wednesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center, kicks off today with an Opening General Session that will feature Connie Podesta, an author, comedienne and humorist known for her motivational and inspirational [image-nocss] style. Her main objective is to provide solid content and techniques to help those in the audience in their professional and personal lives.

With that, The NACS Show will be in full swing with a morning of educational sessions on subjects as varied as new retail technology, the power of direct-store delivery and achieving a better work/life balance. The trade show floor will open at noon with hundreds of booths from the 1,400 exhibiting companies on more than 375,000 square feet of space.

Tuesday and Wednesday will continue with more of the same, including a presentation from BP on its retail strategy and a Closing General Session that will feature retired General Tommy Franks, who led troops through Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq.

And Tuesday night, CSP Information Group will honor its Retail Leader of the Year in grand fashion during a dinner at the Wynn Hotel.

In between, retailers will have the opportunity to view new products, learn about hand-held scanning and share ideas and strategies with one another.
