NEW YORK -- As many of us prepared for the Thanksgiving Day holiday this week, Hess Corp. was readying for its participation for the 14th consecutive year in America’s foremost fall holiday spectacle: the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Hess will make its way through downtown New York in the parade tomorrow morning with its classic “Bridge to the Future” float, showcasing by a large replica of the 2013 Hess Toy Truck and Tractor.
Riding high in the showcase position on the Hess “Bridge to the Future” float is a modernized replica of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, which transforms into the Delta Y Tri-Suspension Bridge of Tomorrow. On it is a large scale replica of the 2013 Hess Toy Truck and Tractor. It is accompanied by similar replicas of favorite past models and by British singer-songwriter Cher Lloyd, who will perform one of her latest hit songs atop the float.
The Hess float is expected to appear on the NBC national broadcast at approximately 10:28 a.m. EST before an audience of more than 50 million. In addition, about 3.5 million parade-goers are expected to line the parade route.
Now in its 87th year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an American icon. It is fitting that Hess is included in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The Hess Toy Truck has a unique history with Thanksgiving. From the first model offered in 1964, the Hess Toy Truck has become a beloved holiday tradition in many families. For many years, the annual Hess Toy Truck sales promotion was launched at Hess stations on Thanksgiving Day, and many families still recount stories of how it became synonymous with their holiday.
The parade will kick off at 77th Street and Central Park West at 9 a.m. EST and end in front the Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square at noon. For more details, visit www.macys.com/parade.
