Kmart Promises 'Big Gas Savings'

Edgy fuel rewards ad is followup to "Ship My Pants"

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Kmart, which recently created major online buzz with its "Ship My Pants" commercial, has followed up that controversial ad with another--"Big Gas Savings." This time, it is promoting it Shop Your Way rewards program.

The video, created by the same Chicago-based advertising agency, Draftfcb, "Big Gas Savings" features many of the same actors excited over the 30-cents-per-gallon fuel savings, said a Forbes report.

Members of Kmart's Shop Your Way program who spend $50 or more in the store receive a discount coupon redeemable at participating BP and Speedway stations. Coupons must be redeemed inside the station prior to pumping gasoline, and the offer is strictly good for one 15 gallon minimum purchase and not an ongoing benefit assigned to Shop Your Way rewards members.

At BP locations, there is a 20-gallon maximum purchase. A PIN  code provided on a coupon obtained at Kmart must be entered inside the station prior to fillup. Coupon can only be used for a single fill. If fewer than 20 gallons are purchased, there is no residual discount on the next purchase.

At Speedway locations, the consumer must be a Speedy Rewards Member. Speedy Rewards Cards must be scanned inside the station with the coupon prior to fillup. The coupon can only be used for a single fillup, with a 15-gallon maximum purchase. If fewer than 15 gallons are purchased, there is no residual discount on the next purchase.

Kmart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp., Hoffman Estates, Ill.
