Kwik Trip is in its third day of having a system outage, including having no internet service at any of its stores, affecting the retailer’s loyalty program, among other functions.

A Facebook post from the convenience-store chain reads, “Hi, there! As you are aware, we are currently experiencing an incident that has caused a disruption to our systems. We will update this communication when services are restored and functioning as usual. As always, we appreciate your patience while we work through this issue.”

When contacted by CSP, a spokesperson said, “We do not have any additional information to share at this time, but we will keep you apprised of relevant developments. From a guest perspective, you will see some challenges regarding our loyalty program, product shortages and promotional pricing.”

The problem started Monday morning and still persists, a manager at a location in southeastern Wisconsin told CSP Wednesday morning.

“It’s still down. There’s no internet across the company,” the manager said. “This is affecting using rewards cards.”

The problem also is affecting Kwik Trip’s headquarters in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the manager said.

Another Facebook post from Kwik Trip said, “We will update your loyalty when our system is functional. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact us at creditcustomersupport@kwiktrip.com. Thank you for your patience and being a valued guest.”

One customer comment on Facebook read: “What’s going on tonight with the Apple iPhone Kwik Trip App? It won’t load and the rewards member login on your actual website won’t load either.”

  • Kwik Trip is No. 11 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 ranking of convenience store chains by store count.

Kwik Trip has about 800 locations under the Kwik Trip and Kwik Star flags. One of the biggest independently held c-store chains in the country, it serves customers in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. It produces more than 80% of the products sold in its stores, supplied by its own bakery, commissary, dairy and distribution center.
