NYACS Earns Honor

Association's family program wins state award

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS) has received an "Association Excellence" award from the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE).

A member recognition and retention program that honored "New York's Foremost Convenience Store Families" earned NYACS the annual award in the Excellence in Membership category.

Created in conjunction with NYACS' 2004 "We Are Family" Trade Show and Convention, the program saluted the abundance of family-operated enterprises that give vitality [image-nocss] and strength to New York's convenience store industry.

On behalf of NYACS Board of Directors and staff, NYACS president James Calvin accepted the award at ESSAE's recent awards banquet. Calvin also was installed as a member of ESSAE's Board of Directors during the event.

ESSAE comprises more than 500 association and supplier members, and represents executives employed by trade, business and professional associations. ESSAE provides its members a means to exchange ideas and encourages high professional standards through educational forums, publications, industry resources and networking luncheons.

NYACS' 2006 Trade Show and Convention is May 16-17 in Syracuse, N.Y.
