Pinnacle Teams Up With Standard Register

Alliance creates custom loyalty program for c-stores

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. has forged an alliance with Standard Register, a premier document services provider, to provide turnkey offerings via Pinnacle's Loyalty suite of solutions including Loyalink, LoyalPass, LoyalPay and LoyalDebit. Standard Register will supply collateral needed to implement and execute a successful loyalty program in convenience store environments.

[The deal] allows Pinnacle to offerclients an end-to-end solution for their various loyalty programs, said Drew Mize, Pinnacle's vice president of retail solutions. Our [image-nocss] new relationship has defined a custom offering that will supply our loyalty solutions clients with cards, signup forms, marketing collateral and a distribution model that removes the burden of design, acquisition and distribution of these materials from the retailer. This program will ensure that our clients receive only the highest quality collateral to support their loyalty programs and in a format that simplifies implementation and ongoing maintenance.

Kathy Harper, director of marketing for Standard Register, said, Standard Register offers a comprehensive fulfillment capability to help customers drive down the cost of managing business communications while improving their impact. With four fulfillment centers strategically located across the country, we are able to produce and distribute mailings on a timely, cost-effective basis. This will allow the convenience stores to redirect people and resources to more critical business initiatives.

Standard Register, Dayton, Ohio, is a document services provider that offers document and label solutions, e-business solutions, consulting and print supply chain services to help clients manage documents across their enterprise.

In other Pinnacle news, it has also announced the next release of its Palm POS in-store point-of-sale system. Palm POS version 9.1 offers several new features for convenience store retailers.

Version 9.1 will support Pinnacle's LoyalPass solution that prevents driveoffs by validating post-pay fuel customers before they pump. It also includes PCATS NAXML transaction support that enables third parties, like security camera companies or backoffice applications, to access and retrieve transaction data directly from Palm POS. Also, graphical user interface enhancements will provide an updated look and feel of the graphic elements of the touchscreen, making it even easier for cashiers to work more effectively. Also, PCI PED compliant Ingenico PIN pads will enable retailers to operate in a more secure manner.

Denise Lewis, Pinnacle's retail solutions manager, said: "This version of Palm POS will also support several other interfaces currently in various stages of development or certification including an electronic safe device from Corporate Safe Specialists, an updated interface to RBS Lynk network, a payment switch framework from ISD, prepaid solutions by PaySpot and ACH transaction support from National Payment Card."

Palm POS is hardware independent and interfaces to a variety of scanners, printers, pole displays, security cameras, lottery, money order, kitchen video systems and more. Nationwide, it is used to process nearly $9 billion in total c-store sales and is certified on 10 different credit payment networks, said the company.
