Stripes to Present Check in Support for STARS

Campaign raises more than $71,000

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Stripes LLC is proud to support higher education in South Texas and by partnering with South Texas Academic Rising Scholars (STARS).

Due to hard work of many Stripes employees and the generosity of their customers, this year's fundraising campaign was once again a huge success, the company said. Stripes has announced that together, they have raised a grand total of $71,140.

The mission of STARS is to assist every eligible student, achieve a successful education. Once again this year, STARS and Stripes [image-nocss] teamed up on a mobile campaign offered at all Stripes locations. All proceeds go towards providing qualified South Texas students with university scholarships. The five-week campaign was held during the month of September at all Stripes locations in the South Texas region including the Coastal Bend and surrounding areas, Rio Grande Valley and Laredo.

Corpus, Christi, Texas-based Susser Holdings Corp. is the largest non-refiner convenience store operator and motor fuel distributor in Texas, it said. It operate more than 332 convenience stores in Texas and Oklahoma under the Stripes brand, offering motor fuel, merchandise, foodservice (under its Laredo Taco Co. brand) and other services.

Stripes LLC, the retail arm of Susser Holdings, directly operates more than 330 retail c-stores in Texas and Oklahoma and more than 135 Laredo Taco restaurants. The company operates under the Stripes banner.
