Celsius Forges Distribution Deals

Beverage reaching Chicago, suburban Chicago, New Mexico markets

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Celsius Holdings Inc. recently has announced several distribution deals. The company, which makes calorie-buring soda Celsius, said last week that it will be distributed throughout suburban Chicago by new partner Fred W. Losch Beverage Co.

In March, Celsius Inc. partnered with Skokie Valley Beverage Co. to begin penetrating the city of Chicago and its suburbs. It will be distributed on Chicago's North Side and in northern and western Cook County, including Evanston, Schaumburg and Arlington Heights.

Celsius [image-nocss] represents a new brand and a new beverage segment for us, and we believe there is a huge opportunity to address the various channels we service. We are convinced Celsius has targeted the right consumer, said Fred Losch, president of Fred W. Losch Beverage.

We will be able to integrate Celsius into a large number of our commercial and residential bottled water accounts, said Bill Losch, vice president of sales for Wisconsin Glacier Springs Co., a Losch-owned company. The health orientated consumer that enjoys Celsius is the ideal consumer for us. We currently service them for both in-home and out-of-home consumption. We are all excited to get started.

Established distributors such as Losch can really help us get close to their accounts so their sales force and consumers can become intimately familiar with our brand and product. Together, we can achieve the market penetration we're seeking for Celsius, said Dick McGee, COO of Celsius Inc., Delray Beach, Fla.

He added, We were particularly attracted to the ability Losch has demonstrated for in-home' delivery. We've seen this work with our Internet sales, and we'd like to explore that special service they offer with a strong marketing support program. Delivering educational, consumer-oriented marketing materials and coupons along with product will help inform consumers about Celsius and empower them to tell their friends and neighbors. It's truly a channel we think can work elsewhere and this will be a good partner to test it with.

Meanwhile, Celsius Holdings said that Celsius will be distributed statewide in New Mexico by Primo Beverage Co., Albuquerque.

Celsius is an exciting product for us, said Dan Rosado, president of Primo Beverage. We've already placed Celsius in some of our leading accounts including Raleys grocery and many fitness facilities and truly believe it will be a hit with our customers."

"Our goal is to work closely with Primo Beverage to launch Celsius in New Mexico," said McGee. "We've already conducted samplings in conjunction with Primo. Awareness of Celsius in the market was already high."

Celsius is available in five flavors: Orange, Cola, Lemon-Lime, Wild Berry and Ginger Ale. It comes packaged in 12-oz. glass bottles and 12-oz. cans for a suggested retail price of $1.99, and is also available in 12-oz. glass four-packs and 12-oz. four-pack cans for an SRP of $7.49.
