BURNing Up Asheville

Energy drink expands N.C. distribution

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- BURN Energy Drink has expanded distribution into Asheville, N.C., with RC Bottling of Asheville. The deal expands BURN's reach in its home state to the western edge, further solidifying its presence in North Carolina.

We're thrilled to work with RC Asheville, said Tyler Benedict, founder of Source Beverages. BURN is a popular product with mountain bikers, and the Asheville area is home to some of the best trails in the state.

With 25% more caffeine than its competitors, BURN combines the same sugars as professional [image-nocss] sports drinks with electrolytes, arginine, b-vitamins and ginseng to provide sustained energy for endurance athletes, the company said.

I actually developed BURN after competing in mountain biking for years and seeing all the crazy things people were drinking to boost performance, Benedict said.

BURN Energy Drink, based in Greensboro, N.C., is expanding its distribution throughout North Carolina, the Midwest and Texas with strategic distributor selection and extensive grassroots support.

We liked what BURN was doing to support the retailers and distributors, and we needed a strong brand to complete our portfolio, said Harrison Krouse, General Manager at RC Bottling of Asheville. We're proud to bring in a 'local' brand and support North Carolina businesses.

RC Asheville will be rolling out BURN in all of its convenience store accounts during the next 60 days, supported by on-site and street-level sampling and promotions, it said. BURN Energy Drink is in negotiations with several additional distributors in North Carolina and expects to have total coverage of the western half of the state by year's end.
