FuelQuest Honors Innovators

ChevronTexaco, Circle K, Sam's/Wal-Mart, ZEUS receive award

HOUSTON -- FuelQuest Inc., a major provider of fuel management and tax automation solutions, has announced the recipients of this year's Customer Innovator Awards. Winners were selected based on their contributions to the ongoing innovation and use of downstream supply chain solutions and the associated benefits FuelQuest customers are realizing through their innovations.

The 2005 award recipients are ChevronTexaco Products Co. (CTPC), Circle K, Sam's Club/Wal-Mart and ZyTax Enterprise Users Group (ZEUS).

"This award celebrates [image-nocss] the successful innovations all of our customers have been able to enjoy as a result of the industry leading efforts of these organizations." said Rich Cilento, Houston-based FuelQuest's president and CEO. "We recognize and congratulate these recipients for their vision and perseverance, and are proud to call them our customers."

This is the inaugural year for these annual awards, intended to recognize those organizations and individuals that have unselfishly contributed to the innovative use of FuelQuest's solutions in ways that can be widely adopted by industry for the benefit of everyone across the fuel and lubricants supply chain.

CTPC is a division of a wholly owned subsidiary of ChevronTexaco Corp., San Ramon, Calif. It is a developer and marketer of technologically advanced lubrication products, coolants products and value-added services for a variety of consumer, commercial and industrial applications. Its contribution to the strategic direction of FuelQuest, enabling the further development of our lubricant supply chain solutions, contributed to the selection of CTPC as a 2005 Innovator Award recipient.

In 2004, CTPC began deployment of inventory management solution to its commercial and industrial customer base, building on FuelQuest's lubricants eCommerce solution that had been in use since 2002.

Circle K operates approximately 2,400 convenience stores across 16 states and uses FuelQuest's solutions in the planning, scheduling, dispatching and management of its fuel replenishment operations for this sizeable customer network. It was Circle K's partnership with FuelQuest in the innovation and development of advanced scheduling and dispatching processes and capabilities that led to their recognition as an inaugural Innovator Award recipient. The automation and collaboration enabled by FuelQuest's Fuel Management System (FMS) has allowed Circle K more time to proactively and continuously pursue other improvements to its fueling operations, the company said.

Members-only warehouse Sam's Club uses FuelQuest's Fuel Management System (FMS) and ZyTax tax automation solutions to procure and manage its complete retail fuel management needs. Sam's Club worked in partnership with FuelQuest to develop FuelQuest Fuel Recon, a highly automated fuel delivery and invoice reconciliation module that is deployed within FMS. By extending the FuelQuest solutions to automate the fuel delivery and invoice reconciliation process, Sam's Club has automated its reconciliation processes and is realizing benefits of improved accuracy, robust financial controls and enhanced contract compliance, said FuelQuest.

ZEUS provides a forum for customers of FuelQuest's ZyTax tax automation solutions to not only share experiences, but also enables a vital conduit for driving continued improvement to FuelQuest's delivered solutions. This results in an annuity of benefits to this large customer base. ZEUS has been instrumental in consolidating and prioritizing the needs from a broad array of existing users of FuelQuest's ZyTax tax automation solutions. This award recognizes both the specific solution innovations that ZEUS has influenced as well as their contribution to FuelQuest's continuously improving quality of solution delivery, support and product line documentation.
