Retailer rolling out four varieties of private-label brew with special tastings
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kevin W. Krause, senior vice president of marketing at Kum & Go LC, announced yesterday the addition of Hiland beer to its portfolio of private-label products. Hiland beer is now available in more than 280 Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri stores. Kum & Go offers four varieties of Hiland beer: Ice, Light, Lager and Reserve.

Hiland beer varieties (Ice, Light and Lager) are available at $6.99 for a 12-pack. As an added value for customers, Hiland Light is offered in a 20-pack for $9.99. "Kum & Go listens carefully to our customers and works hard to meet their evolving needs. For instance, we know our customers continually seek high-quality products at a great price. That's one reason why we're excited to add Hiland beer to our growing family of Hiland products. It reaffirms our company's unwavering commitment to our customers," said Krause.

Hiland beer is made with the Midwestern customer in mind, Krause added. It is brewed with traditional ingredients from America's heartland and contains no preservatives. In addition, Hiland beer is brewed by the Minhas Brewery in Monroe, Wis., the second oldest brewery in the United States.

This month, Kum & Go customers will be able to experience Hiland beer in select stores. In fact, Melissa Billman, director of private-label development for Kum & Go, said that she believes people will become big fans of this new beer after attending these special tastings. "During October, we're hosting Hiland beer tastings in select Kum & Go stores. It's a wonderful opportunity for our customers to experience this American-made beer and truly enjoy the great flavors of the Midwest," she said.

During the first three weeks of October, Hiland beer tastings will take place in select stores around Iowa, while tastings during the last two weeks will be held in all three states: Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. All Hiland beer tasting times and locations can be found on www.hilandbeer.com.
