New Protein Water Making Waves

Trimino now available in 1,500 retail locations

BRANFORD, Conn. -- A new entry in the protein-enhanced water category is "beginning to resonate with its target audience," according to the manufacturer.

Miami Bay Beverage Co. rolled out its sugar-free trimino protein-infused water to the Midwest in recent months, The product targets women interested in a healthy, refreshing alternative to sugary soft drinks, one that hydrates and serves as a protein supplement.

Through its team of sales reps and distributors in Texas, Nebraska and Iowa, dozens of accounts have signed up to carry trimino, the company said. Nationwide, trimino is available in over 1,500 retail locations in 12 states, with a strong concentration in the Northeast, where the enhanced water is based.

Recent retail placements in the Midwest include: independent Chevron, Valero, Shell, 7-Eleven, Market Street and Central Market convenience stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area; Brookshire Food & Pharmacy in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas; Hy-Vee Stores and B & R Stores in Omaha and Lincoln, Neb.; on the campus of the University of Nebraska; and Casey’s General Stores, based in Ankeny, Iowa.

Miami Bay, Branford, Conn., credits this success to distributors Gateway Distributing of Nebraska, and Total Beverage Distributors and Saren Foods in Texas, among others.

Trimino protein-infused flavored water is powered by 7 grams of high-quality whey protein and 100% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of vitamin B complex. The product is made with no sugar, no carbohydrates, no caffeine and no lactose. There are 28 calories per 16-oz. bottle. It sells for a suggested retail price of $2.49.

Also gluten-free, trimino comes in four flavors: Peach, Mixed Berry, Strawberry Lemonade, and Coconut Pineapple.

Protein is one of the hottest beverage enhancements on the market today. Trimino joins Protein2o, Gatorade With Protein and NuAquos among the water-based beverages touting the enhancement.
