Reed's Expands Its Craft-Soda Distribution

Ginger beer and Virgil's Root Beer reaching more stores through RBI deal

LOS ANGELES -- Reed's Inc., maker of craft sodas, announced today that it has developed a distribution partnership with RBI Beverages, a leading new-age beverage distributor based in Springdale, Ark., expanding the beverage-maker's reach.

Reed’s Ginger Beer and Virgil’s Root Beer

RBI recently began distribution of Reed's brands throughout northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma, carrying 10 SKUs of Reed's and Virgil's flavors to start.

"We are excited about this new partnership and confident that RBI's service excellence in brand distribution will successfully close the distribution void in this region," said Neal Cohane, senior vice president sales and marketing for Reed's. "We hope to expand our brand presence to at least 700 off- and on-premise retail accounts throughout 17 counties in northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma. An added benefit to this partnership was the immediate introduction of our brands into 18 Reasor's supermarkets, which were founded by the same family that owns RBI Beverages."

Reed's sodas, primarily Reed's Ginger Beer and Virgil's Root Beer is sold in over 15,000 natural and mainstream supermarkets nationwide, as well as specialty gourmet, natural food stores, retail stores, convenience stores and restaurants nationwide and select international markets.

Ginger beer, while nonalcoholic, has seen a resurgence in recent months and years as the primary ingredient in the mixed drink Moscow mules, which mixes the carbonated soft drink with vodka and lime juice.
