CHICAGO  How can convenience-store retailers sell more food and beverage at their convenience stores? They can consider a monthly subscription program featuring unlimited delivery for a fixed price.

7-Eleven recently started offering just this, a $5.95 monthly 7Now Gold Pass that waives fees on more than 3,000 of the c-store’s products.

Free for the first 14 days, the service pays for itself with about three monthly delivery orders, 7-Eleven said. Delivery takes about 30 minutes, and customers can use real-time tracking to follow their orders.

The program also has other perks. For example, subscribers with a basket subtotaling at least $10 can select a free product, such as a small Slurpee. Also, members of 7Rewards, the loyalty program in the 7-Eleven app where customers can earn and redeem points on most purchases, will unlock double the rewards when they order delivery via the Gold Pass service.

7-Eleven launched delivery in 2018 via 7Now.
