7-Eleven Reveals South Florida Growth Plans

Opening four stores by year’s end, with more to come

PALM BEACH, Fla. -- 7-Eleven Inc. “plans aggressive growth for South Florida in 2017,” Charles Bantos, the convenience-store chain’s real-estate manager, said in announcing plans to open four new Palm Beach County, Fla., stores by the end of 2016.

The first c-store, a “scrape and rebuild” of an old gas station, opened in Atlantis on Nov. 30.

The retailer will open the second c-store on Dec. 14 in Loxahatchee. It will open on the pad of the new Publix and Tractor Supply shopping center and next to the soon-to-be-completed Palm Beach State College.

The company will open the third c-store on Dec. 20 in Mangonia Park, part of a corner redevelopment.

And it will open the fourth c-store on Dec. 21 in West Palm Beach, also part of a redevelopment.

During the grand openings, each store will offer free samples of 7-Select products, promotional savings and coupons for free products.

7-Eleven has 37 stores operating in Palm Beach County, said Bantos. “In addition to the four new stores planned for 2016, we plan to open approximately five stores in the county and a total of 20 stores in southeast Florida next year. We are excited to see this growth in our neighborhood as 7-Eleven’s convenient offerings become more accessible to surrounding residents.”

The company added 101 sites in Florida late last year with the acquistion of Biscayne Petroleum LLC and Everglades Petroleum LLC.

“7-Eleven … believes that Florida represents a growing market and that the acquisition of the assets from these companies supports 7-Eleven’s desire to grow in the fuels and convenience business in Florida,” spokesperson Margaret Chabris told CSP Daily News at the time.

7-Eleven, based in Irving, Texas, operates, franchises or licenses more than 60,000 stores in 17 countries, including 10,700 in North America.
