QuikTrip Is Offering Free Ice Cream on Halloween

Customers must be 12 years old or younger and arrive in costume between 4 and 10 p.m.

TULSA, Okla. -- QuikTrip is offering free vanilla ice cream cones to trick-or-treaters at all 765 of its locations on Halloween.

The following rules apply: Customers must be 12 years old or younger and arrive in costume between 4 and 10 p.m.

Mike Thornbrugh, manager of public and government affairs for Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip, told CSP Daily News that the convenience-store chain has launched the promotion for several reasons.

“We like to have fun,” he said. “Seeing kids in costumes and their reactions to vanilla cones should be a great night for our employees and customers.”

QuikTrip is one of several c-store chains offering sugary promotions for Halloween. In early October, 7-Eleven, Irving, Texas, partnered with Mondelez International to launch the confectioner’s new Sour Patch Kids Zombie candies for this year’s holiday. The orange- and grape-flavored candies are available exclusively at various 7-Eleven locations for a limited time only. On Oct. 23, Wawa, Wawa, Pa., updated its touchscreen kiosks with new Halloween treats, which included its Graveyard Smash crushed cookie and ice cream combo, Fang-O Mango smoothie and Franken-Mint Macchiato.

QuikTrip Corp. is an $11 billion company with more than 760 stores in 11 states. The chain ranked No. 12 on CSP’s 2018 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.
