Vintners Distributors Inc. is based in Fremont, Calif., and all of its convenience stores and gas stations are in California. The company was founded in 1978 and develops real estate and owns and operates gas stations with convenience stores and car washes. Of the nearly 150 locations it owns, 14 are operated by dealers; the company operates 124 sites. Vintners also has a wholesale division that delivers fuel to about 60 dealer locations in the market, but the company has no other influence on products or operations for those locations. Having a brand and offering unique products is key to differentiating the Loop Neighborhood stores. The brand is being supported with the presence of the company's 24 fuel tankers that are visible on the highways throughout the Bay Area, where more than 100 company-operated stores are located.
