JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Swisher said that John Miller is retiring from his position as chief executive officer and president of Swisher. Neil Kiely, a member of the board of directors, has assumed the role of president of Swisher.

Swisher’s board named Miller CEO, in addition to the role of president, in March.

Miller has been Swisher’s president since 2017, and previously worked as a senior vice president of sales and marketing with responsibility for its core tobacco and adjacency businesses. He joined Swisher in 2012 and has guided the tobacco company through strategic change, highlighted by year-over-year record-breaking growth, the company said.

“On behalf of the board of directors and Swisher's employees, I would like to thank John for the work he has done for the company and our customers for the past nine years and wish him the best going forward,” said William Ziegler, chairman of Swisher's board. “As we look to the future, we have high confidence that Neil’s experience with companywide transformation will help Swisher accelerate its growth under his leadership.”

Kiely most recently served as the CEO and vice-chairperson of the board for Birra Peroni and was previously chief transformation officer at MillerCoors.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Swisher is an international leading lifestyle company for adult consumers. Known primarily for its Swisher Sweet Cigars, it also offers the Hempire product line.
