Customer service and clean, customer-friendly locations are what set the 73 Moto Mart convenience stores apart from their competitors. Their target customers are males and females between 16 and 55 years old.

Mostly rural, the chain is looking to attract more customers, and more females. With that in mind, new stores have dark wood cabinetry, flat-panel TVs, skylights in the fuel canopy and solid-core countertops. All new stores will follow the same blueprint. The chain has also done "extreme makeover" remodels, replacing all floors, countertops, shelving, lighting and inside cases and dispensers.

Newest stores are 3,500 square feet. Moto Mart is implementing green technologies. In its new fuel canopies and new buildings, the company uses high-insulating LEED-certified translucent panels to provide diffused light without shadows, glares or hotspots. Almost all stores contain efficient ceiling fixtures with parabolic lenses, electronic ballasts and T8 lamps. The stores also have high-tech fuel-tank gauges with independent computers that continuously analyze tanks for potential leaks.
