Midland, Texas-based Kent Oil operates 34 convenience stores and six travel stops under the Kent Kwik brand as part of The Kent Cos., which also oversees the management of a chain of 14 Avis lubrication centers, a tire company, a motor sports team and other ventures. 

All c-stores are in Texas (primarily Midland and Odessa), except for one in Oklahoma and one in New Mexico. The majority of Kent Kwik stores measure 800 to 1,200 square feet. Despite their size, average store sales are comparable to sales of competitors with much more square footage, thanks in part to an ability to get new items into its stores quickly.

Kent Kwik stores serve a variety of customers, including a substantial and still growing Hispanic base. Core-Mark serves as the primary grocery supplier for all stores. The company does not have proprietary or private-label brands. Kent Kwik Stores have built their presence in foodservice by adding Huddle House franchises. Key competitors are Stripes and 7-Eleven.
