Anthony Perrine, owner of Lou Perrine’s Gas & Grocery in Kenosha, Wis., has graced CSP’s Indie Influencers list before for serving the community but his most on-display strength is in his unique and fun approach to doing business.

With an irreverent social media presence and fans who embrace the hashtag #ILoveMyGasStation, Perrine has given his 68-year-old c-store a modern attitude without losing its family touch.

“It’s a family business that loves their town. This is a business that has character.”

In fact, when expanding to a second location this past year, Perrine highlighted the company’s history as an independent retailer with store and family photos posted throughout the new site.

“This is my brain in a building,” Perrine said in a Facebook video tour of the store, which opened in April. “We get to tell our history. That’s literally what it’s all about. … We are a small, family-run business that has served this community for over 67 years. I hope that when you come into our store, you get that vibe. It’s a family business that loves their town. This is a business that has character.”
