Online merchant Gopuff launched Monday a “Lower Than Low Prices” benefit for its subscribing FAM members, offering 30% off more than 100 everyday items on food and other essential household items.
The Philadelphia-based e-commerce company, which describes itself as “the go-to solution for everyday needs,” offers local delivery of food, beverages and other consumer packaged goods from micro fulfillment centers in major markets, including Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami and Atlanta, the company said. Gopuff strives to deliver orders in about 30 minutes in major markets it serves.
The new marketing program, which takes 30% off products ranging from eggs to laundry detergent, also includes weekly deals for FAM members. This week’s deals include 60% off Sweet Street Sandy's Cookie and 40% off Rao's Homemade Marinara Sauce. In certain markets, Gopuff also is offering discounts on Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and a two for $20 promotion on Oyster Bay Pinot Gris.
Consumers pay $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually for a FAM membership, which includes free delivery on most orders. FAM members currently account for about half of the company’s monthly orders, a spokesperson told CSP Daily News.
With inflation taking a chunk out of many people’s monthly budgets, Gopuff saw an opportunity to appeal to their desire for discounts.
“We know consumers are feeling the effects of the current economic climate: 84% of Gopuff customers said they're actively seeking out more deals and discounts and are paying more attention to grocery prices,” the spokesperson said. The company's product assortment includes perishable products, such as eggs and milk, along with shelf-stable foods and consumer goods. It's offering a special of $2 for a dozen of organic eggs with the "Lower Than Low Prices" launch.
