Convenience industry veteran Brett Giesick, chief operating officer of Colonial Group Inc. and former president of the Enmarket convenience-store chain, announced on Facebook his plans to retire at the end of the year.

"After some transitional planning, we announced my retirement at the end of this calendar year to our team today,” he wrote this week. “I feel very blessed for all of the learning experiences over the past four decades, and feel especially blessed to be ending my career with such a wonderful company.”

Giesick was named president of the Enmarket chain in 2017. Five years later, he was promoted to COO of Enmarket parent company Colonial Group, Savannah, Georgia.

Prior to joining Enmarket, Giesick was chief retail officer for CEFCO Convenience Stores for nine years. He also has worked for 7-Eleven, White Hen Pantry and Speedway/SuperAmerica, according to a c-store resume that extends back to 1987.

“Congrats to our good friend, Brett Giesick,” Winsight Vice President of Retailer Relations Mitch Morrison wrote on LinkedIn. “From CEFCO to Enmarket, Brett's been a fantastic leader and breeder of collaborative cultures.”
