CHARLESTON, S.C. Doug Haugh has left Parkland USA after five years as president of the retail company, CSP Daily News has learned. Haugh offered no comment about his exit only than to confirm that his last official day with the company was Dec. 2.

Parkland USA has expanded aggressively since Haugh (pictured) joined the company, completing many acquisitions and licensing exclusive use of the On the Run trademark in a majority of U.S. states. In 2020, CSP named Haugh, who has been vocal and eager to embrace electric-vehicle charging in the United States, to its Power 20 list of "deal makers" driving consolidation and growth in the c-store industry.

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgary, Alberta-based Parkland Fuels Inc., Canada’s largest independent refiner and fuel supplier, and owner of more than 2,600 stores in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

  • With 213 stores, Parkland USA is No. 37 on CSP’s 2022 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

A Parkland spokesperson said COO Jay Erickson "has been named the interim president, and we are awaiting final news on the permanent president soon from corporate."

Erickson joined Parkland in early 2020 after leaving his position as president of EG America. Prior to working for EG America, Erickson was president of The Kroger Co.’s Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill c-stores and vice president of merchandising and marketing for Kroger’s Loaf ‘N Jug c-stores, among other positions with the Cincinnati-based grocer.

Parkland USA, Charleston, S.C., operates a network of company owned c-stores, supplies independently owned gas stations, delivers bulk fuels, supplies lubricants and markets other related specialty products and services to customers in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Minnesota, Florida, South Carolina, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio and Iowa. Parkland USA is a platform for growth in the United States and provides Parkland Fuels export opportunities for products from western Canada.
