According to the report, 47% of consumers are looking for something different, while 46% enjoy discovering new flavors. And consumers are also likely to experiment with flavors found in foods at convenience stores. Technomic’s Flavor Consumer Trend Report states that 36% of consumers are likely or extremely likely to try new flavors from convenience store prepared foods areas.

Additionally, the Technomic Flavor Consumer Trend Report states that 62% of consumers like trying new flavors of food from time to time, with 60% of consumers saying they are likely to try a new or unique flavor for dinner and 50% for a snack. So what does this mean for c-store foodservice? Retailers should add bold, exciting flavors to the lineup.

Mexican foods offer flavors that appeal to consumers

Mexican foods are popular among consumers as they contain flavors that are craveable and appealing.

According to Technomic’s Flavor Consumer Trend Report, the most craveable flavor for consumers is cheesy at 60%, followed by sweet at 59%, savory at 58% and spicy at 55%. The top appealing/extremely appealing flavors are savory at 62%, sweet at 52% and spicy at 48%.
