There’s a prime opportunity for c-stores to capture more share of the cold-brew craze from quick-service restaurant and coffee chains. Among consumers who visit c-stores frequently for foodservice, curiosity about cold brew is heightening, even among those who aren’t exactly sure what it is.
Recent Technomic data reveals how c-store beverage menus—and the consumer mindset—are trending toward iced, cold-brew and other specialty coffee drinks. There has been a 57% year-over-year increase in the number of iced-coffee items on c-store menus. At limited-service restaurants, there has been 83% year-over-year growth of cold brew alone, according to Technomic’s MenuMonitor.
