SAN RAMON, Calif. -- Cumberland Farms convenience stores and Dollar General discount stores are among the chains representing 15,000 retail locations that are converting the nFinanSe branded product to the READYdebit Gold product.
In December 2012, AccountNow Inc. acquired the payment card operations of nFinanSe Inc., developer of a secure value load and activation platform that connects with retail merchants and other value load stations throughout the United States. The new READYdebit Gold branded prepaid card leverages the payment card operations of nFinanSe with the marketing expertise of AccountNow.
Rebranding nFinanSe to a more resonant product name is another milestone in the unfolding of AccountNow's strategy to position its products as central to the financial lives of its customers. Customers holding nFinanSe branded cards will be transitioned to READYdebit branded cards over the next several months.
"READYdebit Gold underscores our commitment to serving retail customers where and how they want to be served. And partnering with leading retailers, known for high quality and value, is a perfect next step for AccountNow as it executes its strategy to establish primary financial relationships with customers," said CEO Jim Jones.
"Today's consumers are trending away from traditional bank checking accounts with their overdraft fees, credit checks and inconvenient services. Our technology enabled payment products, combined with a continuous drive for a more satisfying direct-to-consumer experience, and nationwide retail distribution, give consumers a better way to bank," said Jones.
