CHICAGO — Fridays—also known now as Pizza Day—have become the busiest day of the week at Lakeport Market since the independent convenience store began providing free lunches in mid-March for COVID-19 relief.
“We've been looking for opportunities to get more involved with the community,” Nicole Roth, who runs the store with her siblings Alyssa and Anthony Paduano, told CSP Daily News at the time. “This was a great way to be able to help out.”
On this episode of At Your Convenience, CSP editor Hannah Prokop talks with Roth about Lakeport Market’s COVID-19 relief initiatives and what the c-store means to its Chittenango, N.Y. community. This episode was recorded in conjunction with CSP Magazine’s July cover story, 2020 Indie Influencers: Hometown Heroes.
"At Your Convenience" brings industry experts and analysts together with CSP editors to discuss the latest in c-store news and trends. From mergers and acquisitions to foodservice and technology, the podcast delivers the story straight to listeners in short-format episodes, perfect for the morning commute or a quick break at the office.
