Circle K Set to Hire 20,000 New U.S. Employees

Noting ‘business is coming back,’ retailer plans to greatly expand store- and support-level workforce

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the pandemic starts to ease, Circle K is heralding business returning to its stores with a hiring spree that the convenience retailer expects will add 20,000 new U.S. employees this summer.

“Business is coming back, traffic is getting back on the road, and we are preparing for the future by growing our Circle K team. Our mission is to make our customers’ lives a little easier every day, and we do so with fast and friendly service. If you love retail and love serving customers, apply today and come grow with us,” said Brian Hannasch, president and CEO of Circle K parent Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., Laval, Quebec.

Positions include customer service representatives, assistant store managers and store managers. Circle K also has numerous opportunities at its service centers, which support the stores including positions in maintenance, fuel transportation, accounting, auditing, data analytics, IT support and more.

Circle K remains committed to the safety and health of its team members and customers, it said. The company also offer an emergency sick care plan for hourly employees in North America including both a bank of sick pay hours and a pay continuation benefit if someone is either diagnosed with COVID-19 or is placed under a mandatory quarantine, and a virtual wellness program for employees who have concerns regarding the coronavirus.

During the pandemic, Circle K implemented numerous safety measures to protect its frontline employees and the communities it serves, the company said.

Circle K is Couche-Tard’s global c-store brand outside of Quebec. Couche-Tard's full network includes approximately 9,300 c-stores in North America, with more than 7,100 in the United States under the Circle K and Holiday Stationstores banners and approximately 2,100 in Canada under the Circle K, Mac's and Couche-Tard banners. In Europe, under the Circle K and other banners, Couche-Tard operates a retail network in Scandinavia, Ireland, Poland, the Baltics and Russia including more than 2,700 stores and unmanned automated fuel stations. And under licensing agreements, more than 2,200 stores operate under the Circle K banner in 15 other countries and territories (Cambodia, Egypt, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jamaica, Macau, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam), which brings Couche-Tard’s worldwide total network of approximately 14,200 mostly Circle K-branded c-stores, of which approximately 10,800 offer motor fuel, in 26 countries.
