From the Editor: See What’s Changing at CSP

Hello CSP readers! Although you may recognize my name from other parts of this magazine, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself to those who don’t know me and share a few changes that we’re undertaking here at CSP.

I’m Hannah, senior editor at CSP magazine. I started with the company in 2019 and have covered nearly every category from snacks and candy, packaged beverages and most recently tobacco. Prior to this, I was a news reporter and editor at a newspaper in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

I wasn’t sure how long I’d last in the c-store trade news world when I started—I wasn’t even sure what a c-store or planogram or NACS was. But here I am, more than four and a half years later, enthralled by this industry and all it entails. I love the product innovation, the constantly evolving stores and mostly the people who work in the c-store world, who are often willing to share their knowledge with myself and their counterparts. I wouldn’t have learned as much as I know now or be able to put out this magazine and stories on CSP Daily News, without them.

I also wouldn’t have learned as much as I know now without the leadership of Steve Holtz, editor-in-chief for CSP who ended his tenure at the company in December. His 23 years at CSP have no doubt helped the industry become more informed and shaped how you do your job. Thanks, Steve. I hope to continue the mission to educate and inform our readers moving forward.

While one colleague is leaving, I’m happy to report we’ve added another to the team. Diane Adam is joining us from our sister publication Supermarket News, formerly Winsight Grocery Business, to cover the tobacco beat and more. Reach out to her at with story ideas, or just to introduce yourself! We’re so happy to have her take over coverage of this important category.

Also, you might see a different name associated with us in the new year. CSP’s parent company Winsight Media was acquired by Informa Connect, a London-based global events, digital products and academic company. We officially have transformed to the Informa Connect company name in 2024, but don’t worry, the CSP brand remains.
